Well… If I did not already know what I know about Xojo and was looking for a new tool, and I had just seen this keynote… .I would have been impressed… but since I AM familiar with recent history… this keynote was 7 minutes of pure bullshit

I know how he could have made the keynote longer - by recapping all of the things promised in the past 4 or 5 XDCs that they still haven’t delivered. That would take at least an hour.
And there’s the same “we use native controls” claim @ about 4:45

What a way to end your hyped up “keynote”, like wow, did no-one that had eyes on that speak up about it, what am I like 12 seeking your permission to go or were you just being kind and letting us know that was actually all because we were hoping for some substance?

Having used both tools, Xojo is infinitely more frustrating than FileMaker…
I made the request for “Easy Database Connectivity” back when I thought Xojo could be a usable tool. That a few years ago though. The idea was for simple apps being able to drag and drop to connect to a db is a bit of work which EVERYONE does so why not make it easier. Little did I know…
Ivan’s reply on TOF explains why it will suck.
To be fair, they did announce on twitter ‘5 minutes!’. I just thought it was until it started, not the length of the whole keynote…
