This article is even more interesting now - with hindsight, and the next elections looming - than it was in 2017:
I’m pretty good at long-term predictions.
In 1983 (at the end of my days in school) I had a heated discussion predicting that multi-resistant strains would become a serious problem within 40-50 years. Enter MRSA.
In 2000 I predicted Apple would rise as I was sure they had a winner on their hands with MacOS X (and you could see the uber geeks running around with Powerbooks long before the masses caught on).
In 2013 I predicted that Xojo’s introduction of the Rapid Release Model would lead to a perpetual beta quality product - I think Xojo’s state speaks for itself.
About 6 or 7 years ago I predicted that Turkey is turning into a second Iran, and they are now 3/4 there.
The US seems to be following suit, with more and more authoritarian right-wingers becoming part of the Republican Party, and the “Department of Homeland Security” becoming the equivalent of the Revolutionary Guards. It will be “interesting” to see what happens in the next six months …
I thought you said this more around 2006/2007 when Rapid Release was first rolled out
Blimey - has it been THAT long ago? Yes, I said it when it was rolled out … was too lazy to look up the date and mixed it up with the release of the new IDE …
Yes it been nearly 15 years of trying the same thing over and over and getting crappy results and trying it over again to see if the results are better 
That Apple ticks with a once a year update + dot releases in between doesnt seem to impeded them
There are lots of companies that do not use such a model
It sounded great in theory but the premise it was founded on isnt true in practive
I always found Geoffs behaviour remarkably enterprisey for such a small company. Even a dead horse can be ridden if you just try hard enough.

I really feel that if Trump gets elected again, it will be the beginning of the end of democracy in this country. He downright scares me.

I’d almost say its past the beginning already.
And that if he gets re-elected it will be the end of democracy there and lord knows what it descends into.
I watched his acceptance speech last night and, as usual, it was full of lies and exaggerations.
Just don’t understand how people can support him.
