Correct. However, the pre-release builds will not run without a
current license.
My only active license was a Raspberry Pi for over a year while testing some Linux builds.
Can you explain what you mean?
I have had pro access for almost 15 years with access to the testers group. Due to the pandemic, I was unable to renew, and while I was able to download a pre-release build, it refused to run. Some message about no current/valid license. They renewed the free RPi license I have and the test builds started working.
I may have had other issues since Linux licensing has been messy for years.
It runs for me.
Yup, the pre-releases worked for me as well without a licence.
(Until I was kicked out of the pre-release group in the forum for not having a PRO licence so, no more free work as beta tester)
As already said here, there are Testers with very basic licenses, maybe even no license at all. But PROs can participate in the Testers area without being tagged as Tester. All PROs includes a Tester level. If you lost your PRO level, without being tagged manually as a Tester, you lost your access. That does not limit you to ask such permission to Xojo, emailing them.
except you are banned. While then youâll not have testers access
Ivan is not banned.
I said except you are what was targeted to the banned ones and not to Ivan
Now I understand what you meant:
except [when] you are banned, or targeted to be.
Yeah sorry for that rick
No need to apologize, Thorsten.
Further info: I was removed from the testers group after my pro license expired. Regaining access required a current license and the Raspberry Pi license is free.
I was still Tester while my license had expired. I have since renewed but never lost the Tester badge.
Seems the new addition is Ricardo Cruz ?
Yes. Nice to see they found another developer.
Now we have a reason to visit Teneriffa for a Xojo developer meeting
Tenerife if a nice place. I can be there and I donât need a hotelâŚwould be a nice place.
I quote from their Teams page:
âXojo has been his secret weapon and language of preference since 2018â
to be honest, doesnât sound promising to meâŚ
Bringing Xojo as your weapon is as bringing a knife to a gunfight. A broken knife evenâŚ
I wouldnât blame Xojo for everything. It still has it huge advantages when talking about RAD of classic desktop client-server business apps connecting directly to their server-counterparts or dbms. But when talking about web technology and xojo as secret weapon, I would consider myself quite naked and unarmedâŚ
