Xojo sends a clear message!

“Travis”… for me, nuf said

For me as well

I couldn’t translate “nuf” (nor search for it); can you explain, please?

Short for ‘enough’.

Delusional as geof:
“We’ve already received positive comments … It has seemed pretty clear that most … users would trade-off …”

WTF? Testers are a tiny portion of the users, Testers who gave feedback, even less.

Same ego problem, for them the couple fanboys allways cheering at every change are “most of the users” because that “proves” they know better

Esp after Geoff literally said to Bob once that the people in the testers group ARENT their target market

If not then WHY arent the people who ARE their target market the ones in the Testers group ?

What is their target market? Are this people interested in doing testing? Will they pay 799 bucks? All this questions.

spot on
if the Pro users who ARE members of the Testers group arent the target market then who is ? And why arent they dominating the testers group ?
And, lets be honest, existing users are NOT and were not Xojo’s focus very clearly
It became evident in 2017 or so when it was explicitly said to the various locale specific advocates like @ubogun

Oh well

They didn’t even ask testers. That is what got so far under my skin. A bunch of hand wavy bullshit, when clearly they only showed their echo-chamber of MVPs. There wasn’t even a change note about it until a regular Tester noticed the size increase.

I discovered all of this reviewing Issues - because that’s the only way to stay on top of what Xojo is breaking while I get sick. I hadn’t exposed anything that wasn’t publicly available, and they shuffled the thread right under the rug to hide it from people.

The foot-in-mouth moment there being that if I had done that in the first place, I wouldn’t have had a kool-aid drinker try to gaslight and derail my thread. Some people there REALLY need to learn when to shut the fuck up, because I’m so sick of it.

Xojo is good at defending their position with such vague appeals to authority as “most of our users.” There is a term for that: weasel words. I know because a professor wrote that in the margins of one of my papers, decades ago.

I always understood “most users” to mean “Geoff”
After that things make sense

Yes but then again: who is the target user group for this product?

No, only thing is that they see where they break too much and producing maybe more showstoppers than funcitonality. But even that they have not really in their view. For them counts: license sales. They give a f.ck about their users. They only love their money. That’s how it is working. And even if you test and write in testers forum: dies that made any difference within the last decade? I would tend to say no. There is no chance to get outa this for Xojo. Look at the bugtracker and you know how their culture works

They are proficient creators of cognitive dissonance. The faithful solve the dissonance by believing the master’s words.

Because he’s the CEO of a coding tools company SURELY he’s a coding EXPERT ???

Yeah in the same way Tim Cook knows Xcode inside & out and could whip out an app in short order ???
