Haha. Joke of the day.
Like I said already. Influence…I doubt that there is a possibility for. In a conference or in real life.
When Geoff Perlman adjusts his glasses, you’re done being heard.
I have a question
When Xojo Inc did participate in the MBS hosted conferences was attendance better than normal ?
They should do them in Canada as the Euro & USD are higher
Euro is 1.45 : 1
USD 1:30 : 1
So you save money right off the bat !
Just looking over the blog post again. Lots and lots of excuses stated. But nothing said about Pros or Bugs playing into why XDC demand is so low.
Leave me out of this
Good news, I can’t find my passport. Please don’t remind anyone that I have 2 passports
Yes, of course. People in Europe regularly asked for having staff there. Preferable either the CEO to talk to or engineers, which could talk about how things are made.
London is a notoriously onerous and crowded place. There are better venues on the continent, especially when budget is measured. At least, this choice of venue keeps most continent-based Xojo afficionados at distance. Not to forget: keeping it a paid venue will make all those who did not attend pay for those great conference videos . A winning strategy
I suppose with Brexit it is now just as onerous to go to the UK as it is to visit any other foreign country outside the Schengen zone ?
They are now trickling out as free to entice users to come to London
Not so great for anyone that paid for them just 6 months ago
One reason I came over
it was pretty obvious to me there was demand for this
I have no idea why they did pick that ugly fight for making it a paid offer, instead of taking advice, at least discussing and considering what had been suggested.
Oh, a Xojo director of something said: “…this is not a venue to discuss corporate decisions…”. No venue to discuss corporate decisions? Why should anyone spend time and money for traveling and a venue (sic!) just to hear that sort of argument and being schooled by some Xojo Inc exec…
We could provide an INN conference in Frankfurt. Simple to reach for all people in Europe and simple to provide good alternatives for the problematical stuffs and to provide workarounds for the not working stuffs.
Wouldn’t that be nice for the users in Europe???
Nice idea, because we have nice folks at INN. Only, most of us do not work with Xojo (anymore) and may not be able to spend time and effort on a Xojo conference.
Nevertheless, I’m all in for a dinner meeting in DE-Frankfurt/Main, provided it is not a Xojo-only meeting.
Geoff is particularly impervious to advice
I do think there was the “we spent a bunch of money on this and we need to recoup that”
But I cannot imagine they ever sold enough copies to do that
Maybe they did ?
Director of is a grandiose title for a person who is a department of ONE - just them
Its “puffery”
I’d be up for it IF I weren’t 4 hours away from Frankfurt by train in April
I’ll be down near Munich
That is one of the main reasons I went. I gained more insight and knowledge with a few relevant (to me) questions between sessions.
Well, having Xojo staff gives it a kind of blessing.
People looking to attend take the conference more serious. It also attracts more speakers.
And we raised level a bit over time to make conference nicer and have them look more serious.
If you were to organise a Xojo conference in Germany this year, how many attendees would you expect?
A. with Xojo staff attending, too
B: without Xojo staff attending
…hundreds of thousands of Xojo developers. Where the heck are they? Must be Penguins in Antartica
As we say in Quality Management: show me evidence.
but UK was never part of the “Schengen zone”
