With 6 developers they would need laser focus and an amazing leader to produce a quality product…
I have zero expectations of Xojo Android, and now have zero desire to use it - I’m currently using B4A and if I ever decide to change it’ll be to Android Studio and Kotlin.
I’ve only “played with” Xojo iOS very briefly but have read basically the same as you - I use B4i and again if I ever decided to change it would have to be to XCode and Swift.
I have used B4X for almost 10 years and to be honest I miss the RAD part, designer and the The events linked to the code and even the way Xojo IDE have a editor for each event/method.
With a decent staffed effort and a decent product, I would change B4X anytime.
BUT, to this day, most of the apps I have made (iOS) are not possible to do in Xojo.
Those were the things I disliked in the Xojo IDE. Personal preference for me is one code block and being able to add events in code. To much clickety-click in Xojo. Thirty years of programming has taken a toll on my wrists and avoiding having to use the mouse is key for me. Probably also why I do love the Eclipse IDE.
Yeah, we all have our preferences. I wiggle between C# in Visual Studio, Xojo and B4X almost every day, and the different environments somethimes makes me feel a bit schizophrenic
In Xojo you just press Control+Shif+E, then the down arrow to select the event, then Enter. No mouse needed…
It is true that Xojo suck in the keyboard accesibility in other parts (you cant even tab the properties of a control), but NOT when creating events. Anyway, nor xojo nor B4x compare with what VB6 had 2 ecades ago with its mouse free RAD
I would consider going, but Memphis isn’t a location I have any desire to visit.
Jus to Clarify, the location is Navshville, not Memphis. This the Music City. I live around 40 miles from north of what we affectionately call “NashVegas” This gives me a good reason to attend. No air travel required for me.
It’s been a long while since I was there working for a client
Nashville is a nice city
Too bad their hockey team got knocked out of the playoffs as that would be fun to attend
Have fun !
As @thommcgrath said they were often my most favourite thing about working at Xojo as well
XDC was one of my favorite weeks of the year. Got to see all the Xojo employees (still friends with most - even those from 20 years ago), and all the other Xojo users. Carol and I, and our employees, usually gave a presentation (sometimes two) and we sold some product and talked to many prospective clients. It was generally a very productive conference.
I miss the people. It’s been many years since I went specifically to learn about something.
