Why don’t Arab countries help the Palestinians? The fact is that the ones who have done so in the past have paid the price by being targeted by America.

Everyone who’s looked at the elections agrees that Yanukovych was the legitimately elected president of Ukraine when he was overthrown in 2014. He was overthrown in a coup engineered by the US (in one of its cookie-cutter colour revolutions that have occurred so often including in Georgia).This is why the USA recognised the new regime within days, the coup was after all, coordinated from its embassy. Members of fascist organisations from Western Ukraine provided the muscle in Maidan and were the ones who shot both civilian protestors and police to set the whole thing ablaze.
Right after Yanukovych fled, one of the first acts of the new regime was to ban the Russian language.Then they committed a massacre of anti-maidan protestors in Odessa.
Incidentally in 2014, only 20% of Ukrainians supported joining Nato.
Russia annexed Crimea in a move that was hugely popular there.
The Russian speaking Donetsk rose up, the new regime tried to send the army to crush this but the Ukrainian army proved reluctant to attack their own people so instead the openly fascist Azov Brigade was sent. In 2015 we had the Minsk accords which both Merkel and Hollande later claimed were agreed to, to simply buy time to build up the Ukrainian army so it could retake both Donetsk and Crimea. Zelensky came to power with a mandate to make a deal with Russia but pretty quickly changed his mind after the hard men from Western Ukraine paid him a visit. (you may recall the blood and soil torch-lit parades, so redolent of Nuremburg nights in the 30s).
So with no one addressing Russian concerns Putin launched his special military operation to force Ukraine to the table. Although failing in its immediate goals it did bring about talks and a provisional agreement within about two months. Under the Istanbul proposals Russia would pull its troops out, the Donetsk would become an autonomous region of Ukraine and talks on Crimea would be deferred for ten years.
That deal would have saved the vast majority of the deaths in the war and left Ukraine largely intact.
But it didn’t suit the Americans who sent Boris Johnson to Kiev to tell Zelensky that he was on his own if he accepted the deal and that they (Nato) thought that Ukraine could win and that Nato would help them. Of course the truth is that they didn’t care a fig about Ukraine but cared a lot about bleeding Russia.
