I think itâs sad that many of the predictions that we gave for API2 have come true. We gave those predictions out of love for the product and the damage that change was going to produce not only for newcomers to the product but also for the thousands of projects out there that would never get converted to API2.
I wish more people would ask Geoff, publicly, when the IDE is going to be 100% API2. And why it already hasnât been done. Iâd love to see the hemming and hawing over that.

Although in the keynote at XDC London they did say Android would be in 2023r2 as a pubic beta when it ships
I suppose a person could grab the XDC App and see what they made in the Android beta
Anyone with a little experience with xojo should know that xojo has no QA, and with the TINY testers group, it is expected that a ânewâ feature will not work as intended on the first release. For a new target, at least one or two years so⌠Who in the right mind would spend money on a release that might contain a not production ready feature ???

Thanks for the Tip. I had no Idea about the Charity. I always thought I am buying something. I had no Idea that it is a question of charity and making people satisfied,.
When they moved from âupdates are 50% offâ to âyou buy a new license every yearâ it made less sense to just blindly renew every year to get that 50% discount
I believe more people became a lot more sensitive to the $ they were spending every year since the price basically doubled

His take was, at the time, roughly
BUY a brand new license when you need it, only when you need it, and not before
DONT UPDATE because there as NO advantage to just extending an existing license expiration date since you got no more installs you could do; with a NEW one you can add to the # of seats you can put that older copy on just have to use a different license key.
And, TBH I fully agree with him; then and now
But like so many things the ânewâ model didnât take into account existing users and how they might behave (which I also think hurt revenue since fewer people updated annually like before)
What is totally clear while it makes no sense. You only need to update when you need to update. Using older Version does not need any update and when there is no 50% nobody will really do except Fanboys. They did not get that it is needed to have a structure like this.
But it is like all time: in the real world there are replacements and people are moving.
Anybody expect anything different than the mess with iOS, or Web or new Framework? I have used Xojo for too long.
