Guess what….my panic was to need to sleep in the garden. It was in december last year ![]()
I had one with Windows 7, 10. When I used my MacBook, I tried to click on screen (or anything else). And when I use it back, I continue to click, etc. on screen.
What is the symptom of a missing feature ? It is when you try to use it where it does not exists. ![]()
Some dislike | strongly dislike TouchBar: I learned to love it, especially to add a color tag in Get Info window… Unfortunately, I do not know the meaning of some icons… sometimes.
We can even create screen shots of the TouchBar !
Use the TouchPad…
I liked touchbar. I thought it was a neat feature. I hated the butterfly keys on the keyboards, though. The only thing that I would have liked with touchbar was some haptic feedback, since any virtual buttons drawn didn’t have physical edges that you could feel, so if you were a touch-typist, and didn’t look at the keyboard, very often, it was easy to miss the button you thought you were reaching for, and instead hit the one next to it.
Most of our team had the Touch Bar. I didn’t hate it but it was very easy to accidentally touch it and set it off. Whereas with physical keys you can ‘feel’ the edges without activating. Most of our developers complained about the accidental touch causing havoc in their day to day. Not sure if haptic feedback would have helped in our situation.
This is why I hated it, touch typing on my lap was a PITA until I removed almost everything from the Touchbar. It was such a terrible Pro feature. Apple could have improved it, by making you actually push down on it, but instead they chose to let it languish until they removed it.
I can also talk about the TouchPad “touch is click’“ feature: this one is not for me !
OR… I need a long training time. BUT, I see some people working with that feature and apparently, they love it !
Vas savoir Charles !
I did something similar where I kept the left side blank so the esc key had breathing room.
Touch Bar was a good idea badly implemented.
Inappropriate touching!!
I think it is only a matter of time until the iPad Pro will get full macOS capabilities, plus touch screen.
The TouchPad knows about Finger navigation, but enlarging and shrinking too, and I never go anywhere else (what else an iPhone can allow ?).
Rotating images in QuickLook: Cmd-R or Cmd-L.
Some other stuff ?

since 2007 (introduction of iphone by steve jobs) we are all instantly used to “pinch” somthing in or out. That’s one reason why my transition to GNU/Linux from the Mac was easy. Basic gestures and concepts. I never ever could work with Windows anymore. Sometimes I need to on devices of customers (and always feel the pain and urgent need to wash myself afterwards ![]()
Sometimes I need to test on Windows what makes me headache. Windows is ridiculous. But the most users are on Windows. So we need to maintain Software for Windows and Services also. There is no way out.
