its all good… As long as Trump doesn’t continue to sink the Stock Market
Well he’ll probably continue to run the pump & dump scams he’s been doing to increase his wealth
never thought that this is possible in the United States. And as we can see: USA lost this war. Iran has the power. That was not a good Idea. This will also be registered by other parties. And no, you can’t get a change with bombing. USA tried this together with England. In WW II. From Stuttgart to Hamburg they bombed out all big cities and the entire industries. The result was not that people started to be against Hitler. They started to love Hitler even more. The same effect you can see now in Iran. Sad day for the USA. They now lost all their reputation. A second Vietnam was happened even in a few days he showed: we can’t. With troops he would loose 2 Million soldiers and would be at the same result. So it is at least good that this was not happened.
You’re a bit premature declaring the winner when it’s all far from over. I think it’s quite interesting to see all the gulf states aligning with Israel. The ME may seem very different if Israel & USA succeed in ending the Islamist occupation of Persia.
It’s rather doubtful there’s anyone in Iran in a position to agree to a cessation now given Iran’s “decentralized mosaic defence” strategy where each commander isn’t answerable to a line of command. That’s rather what we saw yesterday, even as the 2 week ceasefire was being announced Iran was still firing at Kuwait and Saudi.
.
Really? Japan might disagree.
That was with what? An atomic Bombing. Ending of the civilization. If ever Trump will do that, America looses all respect. Even the last bit of it. And it is in one row with Vladimir Putin. This kind of war you don’t want to have.
And no, it is not far from over. They could now try to step in with ground troops. We had that. In Vietnam. If Trump wants to get it a second time: start the operation. Until now it will only cost money and reputation. But loosing against Iran will cost much more: the position as the almighty America would be more than damaged after.
China will start becoming more interested in war against Taiwan. America can’t protect. That’s what is coming out. I doubt that America can win this Iran problem. And I doubt that he will reach ever a regime change. This regime is extremely resilient and prepared for asynchron war. And they have weapons America can’t reach with its bombs. Even with nuclear weapons it can be extremely complex to destroy something deep under a mountain.
There is no chance for this. Even in Iran it is not. Speaking about Hamas, Ḥizb Allāh, Huthi Rebels: that can be cause there is no military structure. But firing on neighbor states is exactly that. Cause the Iran Army is a really well organized and structured Army with clear order structures. They are able to transport messages within seconds. The order not to fire via Iran TV and radio. For example. I doubt that they need days or weeks for this. This is something Trump’s government told to the people. I doubt that they are right with this.
They’re firing at their neighbours because they’re impotent to hit back at their actual enemy. They are like men who have a bad day at the office and go home and kick the dog.
Iran has lost its air defences, its navy, its weapons production facilities… and that’s before we start getting into the personnel. It’s been reported Mossad are phoning the people next in line advising them they probably don’t want to take the job.
Threatening ships passing through the strait of Hormuz is the only card they have to play but the issue they have is much of their food is imported so if they stop oil coming out they may find their neighbours, who must be mightily pissed off with them by now, might stop their food going in.
You’re thinking about this from the wrong perspective. The US wants to ‘win’ against Iran (whatever winning really means). Iran just has to ‘not lose’. Iran knows they can’t fight the US/Israeli military by going toe to toe with them. So they use cheap drones, mines, etc to make it as painful as possible not only for the US but against their neighbors too (i.e. disrupt their income).
For Iran, what do they have to lose? They’ve already been bombed (now and in the past). They’ve already been under economic sanctions. Their top leadership has been killed. And yet they still stand as a country. I’m sure they have the attitude of ‘if we can’t have it - then no one can have it.’ Sure it’s a nihilistic attitude but that’s the corner they’ve been put into (and to be clear they helped put themselves there too).
I did some software many years ago for a retired military guy who taught at one of the military officer schools. The software taught about fighting an insurgency. I played the simulator more than a few times while working on it and the funny thing was that you, the US military, couldn’t win. All choices boiled down to more/less bad options. Make this air strike to kill someone important but then create new splinter cells because of it. Every action had a positive and a negative outcome and you had to weight that in your decision making process. Very much a lose-lose game. Add in world-wide politics and economy and it’s doubly so.
What Iran is doing is exactly what was predicted for many years. I forget what year it was but a war games simulation against Iran (Iran was commanded by an American Colonel) had the US losing because they closed the Straight. Used their millions of drones against Israel, US bases, and their neighboring countries energy infrastructure and caused a worldwide economic shock. This knowledge is out there and they have smart people too. This is how a much smaller/weaker force takes on a super power - you make it as painful as possible to the attacker and their enablers.
And for their regime? They’ve already let their people die in multiple ways over the years. Economic sanctions keeps their people poor and dumb. Until now civilians were mostly sympathetic to America but now, after bombing their schools and homes and threatening to ‘end their civilization’ they’ve got 9 million anti-American citizens. Talk about lose-lose for America.
Actively killed them never mind let them die.
9 million out of 92 million is probably about the level of support the regime enjoys from the Iranian population. I wouldn’t get too hung up on Trump’s rhetoric either, everyone everywhere knows he’s a half-wit that’s full of bombast. It seems quite likely Trump was manipulated into this conflict by Netanyahu anyway.
It’s reported the Basij are being killed by Israeli drones when they try to setup checkpoints. Iranian civilians have been threatened with execution if they reveal the location of officials as they were posting locations on social media to try to assist in Israel’s assassination strikes.
We’ve heard from people inside Iran saying if they are killed by a bomb but Iran is liberated they would accept it. The Iranian regime are putting on a show of bravado but it’s way too soon to think they’re the winners ( or the not-losers ).
In all seriousness, we don’t know jack about what’s going on in Iran and the broader Middle East. I don’t believe anyone really knows. Wars tend to make that happen because it’s all one big chaos engine. Add in a Secretary of Defense who enjoys playing one on TV and you get stupid chaos. Add in a president that is trying to treat this like one of his business deals and it’s even more stupidly chaotic. Add in Netanyahu who’s playing by a different set of rules (and who is trying to stay out of jail due to a corruption trial that was supposed to start next week). Iran gets a vote in whether the Straight gets reopened and they’re crazy enough to try and keep it closed and/or extort billions of dollars out of companies and countries trying to use it. Mix it all together and I believe this situation will get much, much worse.
I would love to be proven wrong. Really, I do. But lets circle back in a month and see what’s happening.
bibi netanjahu should be in prison. that# fpor sure.
trump should be there too. he destroys all chances for the usa.
And the economy will likely go to hell here and elsewhere (70’s stagflation anyone?) … I am 70.5 now and this uncertainty is a one of the reasons I’m still working in a job I don’t like at this age… Don’t know if I can hang on until Trump is out of office though!
Yes, there is a big economical shock coming up, I can see it coming. Oil and Gas pricing is ridiculous. Prices for everything are climbing. Let’s see how this will end. Only hope for the world is: that they impeach him as fast as possible. But I have no idea if Vance is better.
