Welp, I went and installed Xcode 27 RC1 today and Buoy no longer builds. Apple went ahead and changed the format of their .tld files again. Seems that they’ve added two new processor targets that LLVM can’t handle… so my plan to make it so Mac devs could update Xcode whenever they wanted a new SDK went out the window.
Working on getting a fix in people, sorry about the hiccup.
I guess you can install Xcode 26 and 27 side by side in Tahoe and keep the project working with the 26 while LLVM/projects need some adjusts for 27. I think that some may have even more issues on Xcode 27 due to Intel support removal, linker issues, etc.
Congratulations! That couldn’t have been easy. Now that the big problem is out of the way, I’d appreciate it if you could fix issues #100 and #102 now (the same underlying problem causes both) because they’re keeping me from being able to run my projects. Thank you.
Whats really annoying about that is i have an agent thats supposed to check every new example when its created and make sure that it conforms to a set of standards and actually compiles and works. clearly it was on a coffee break.
That’s my basic beef with LLMs, they are non-deterministic and all to often, their ways are past finding out. And now that OpenAI is starting to conceal parts of “thinking mode” in its latest models (doubtless to make it harder for the open weight models to reverse engineer their training), soon we won’t even have reliable insight into where and why things went off the rails.
One interesting architectural suggestion I’ve recently read about suggests that all LLM decisions must pass through a final deterministic filter that applies the kinds of conformity checks you describe. I suppose it might take the form of a final tool call you instruct the LLM to make, IDK. I’m still kicking the tires on this stuff myself.
Those should be fixed in the latest release. I did fond some issues with the appearance of the groupbox in the layout editor which ill try to fix tonight.
