Congrats Christian, your conference is larger than Xojo’s own, according to the their latest newsletter:
Join Xojo developers from across Europe and around the world this coming April! Hosted by MonkeyBread Software, and attended by Xojo team members, this is the largest Xojo conference planned for 2026.
When there are several people they’ll post follow up with pictures etc
That they havent sort of says something
BUT it has only been a few days
Maybe Geoff is still travelling so hasn’t sent Alyssa pics to post ?
Give it a week & see
and of course now that its been mentioned HERE there WILL be pictures just because their ever vigilant readers here will tell them about the posts here
The MBS Xojo Conference is the only Xojo conference for 2026 and our 14th one. If you are interested to meet other Xojo developers, this is the event to join.
Organized from developers for developers with great locations, excellent food and lots of engaged speakers.
We would of course be happy to have lots of people there, so we try to keep this affordable. We continue with same prices for 2026 as we had in 2024 for hotel and tickets.
I always found the MBS conferences to be way more fun and engaging than the official Xojo conferences. And way less expensive.
Christian, you’ve always been a great host going above and beyond for those of us coming from out of country. The sight seeing tours and get togethers were great.
While I’m using Xojo every day, my job is converting from Xojo to Go. It’s a daily reminder of how bad the Xojo IDE is in comparison to VSCode.
Carol and I skipped that event (and took employees and a client out to a nice dinner instead) and got read the riot act by Dana. It cost them money, it was disrespectful, etc. They didn’t give us a choice of attending and it wasn’t our thing so we spent our own money, in addition to the conference fee, to eat a better meal and have a much better experience.
After having run my own Xojo event a few times, and done the MBS events, it was clear that Xojo wanted a Porsche event but we developers wanted the Ford pricing. I’m not sure they ever understood that. I wanted it to be as cheap as possible to get as many people to the event as we could. IIRC we gave some money to the speakers at one of the events to help cover some of their costs (it’s possible I’m not remembering that correctly - but I know we talked about it).
The other things that was such bullshit about the Xojo conferences were the surprises that Geoff would give his own developers. It turned into the ‘oh shit, I guess we’ll spend the next year making this happen’ sort of surprise, or he’d outright lie in regards to how close something was (API 2.0 or Web 2.0 anyone?), or give demo’s that were so scripted they were meaningless. Can’t tell you how many conversations I had with him where he’d tell me what he thought I wanted to hear only to hear him give a different story to someone else when I wasn’t the focus of his attention.
At then at some point they stopped giving relevant information during the conferences. I think that was in part their developers got fed up with Geoff promising shit they hadn’t vetted. But again that speaks volumes to how small of a development team they had and the lack of proper planning they were able to do. So why bother going to a Xojo sponsored event?
Frankly, I think most of us just wanted to be able to sit around and talk with other developers about our needs and desires and if a Xojo employee was there even better. It was one of the reasons I absolutely hated Las Vegas. It’s a loud and noisy place and they push you closer to the center of the casino the later it is and the center is even louder and more chaotic. Just made an expensive event less desirable.
