Oh yes. But do not forget: at lifetime end there is much more energy produced than used and much less carbon dioxide emitted then used for production. That`s the difference.
Hello All,
Be assured: the climate does not negotiate, and it does not forget. What is set in motion will return with a force unlike anything we have seen.
We already know what happens as the Earth warms. The signs are no longer predictions—they are reality, unfolding across the world.
The United States will not be brought down by war, but by relentless natural disasters. Nature will have the final word—just as it always has.
Here in Botswana, we see it clearly. Crops burn in the fields. The rains arrive too late—or all at once, destroying what they were meant to sustain. Whirlwinds snap branches 15 cm thick as if they were matchsticks.
As farmers, we adapted. We protect our 16-hectare fields and developed methods that reduce dependence on sun and water. After 14 years, we are close to full CO₂ neutrality.
We are preparing. The question is—who else is?
To everyone reading this: take this as a warning.
Kind regards,
Chris

I know, and I do not envy the next generation. Nearly 50 years ago I read the first report of the Club of Rome warning that Earth was over-populated… at 4 Billion.
Now there are over 8.8 Billion and we are trawling the sea bed and fishing Krill because fish stocks have plummeted due to overfishing.
The WORST thing you can do to the planet is have lots of kids. Because each will need food, clothing, housing, transport, etc etc etc - which is one reason why I don’t have any.
The SECOND WORST thing is buy new. Reuse. Repurpose. Recycle. I bought beautiful massive wood furniture really cheap (eg a large gorgeous drawer for US$25) because people replaced theirs with crap from IKEA. I bought great vintage Pyrex Glass and gorgeous vintage ceramic bowls for less than the cheap plastic ones that people seem to prefer. Value for money instead of cheap and nasty, and I still saved money.
Etc etc etc
It’s simple. Use hat what the nature is giving to you. Sun, wind, wood are examples. Heating with wood but only if the forest the wood was harvested from produces more than you are burning. There are several stuffs like this. Do I have cars? Yes, I do. I buy new one when the old one is at its end. That is at an age around 2 decades. Drive as less as you can. If you can use no AC IN YOUR HOUSE. One part of the decision for Apple computers: they use less energy than x86. There are many ways to help protecting the environment. Instead of building a new house I bought an old one and repaired all stuffs. Instead of living like there is no tomorrow I try to use stuffs as long as it is possible.
We have one planet. If game is over: game is over. And there is no real chance on mars or moon. And no money will rescue people.
We are preparing too: by not having kids. We help against overpopulation and we don’t have to worry that our kids will inherit this pile of crap we created. The human race will end soon, but I’m happy with the fact that we nor our offspring will have to witness it.
