I will be taking a Western Canada/Canadian Rockies sightseeing vacation this summer… would it be better if I keep the fact that I am American to myself?

I lived here since college (since the fall of 73) … but i grew up elsewhere and never picked up the Boston (or New England) accent.

Hello all,
I’m not weighing in on the political substance here, but I do want to raise a broader point.
In a developer-focused forum, political topics like this tend to split people rather than bring them together. They usually generate more heat than insight, and they don’t really help us learn, build, or improve our craft.
Personally, I think technical communities work best when they focus on shared interests—tools, ideas, workflows—things that connect us rather than divide us.
Just my personal thought.

it DOES make me wonder if ANY of the “Make America Go Away” sentiment is shown on the USA propaganda networks
And IF it is how people there feel about the fact that the world wooers to want them to go the F away, stay home, and generally just dislikes America, and districts America since Trump took over

Since I don’t watch the propaganda networks so I can’t tell you. And while I have my own bubble (like everyone else) I’m definitely supportive of the rest of the world not attending, or even sending teams, to the World Cup and Olympics. The only way for corporate America to even pay attention is to hit them where it hurts.
And once big money starts hurting I don’t think the end is far away for this regime. Although my fear is that the next regime will be smarter and less chaotic in regards to civil rights and dealing with the rest of the world.

I guess it is the other way around: behaving like the Nazis. The Propaganda shall not be disturbed. That’s why Trump files also big lawsuites against press companies. If that is his understanding of democracy I am not shure what this guy may understand something what is called autocratic regime.
There is a let me say last chance to get out of it: let the Democratic Party win the midterms. That would help cause they could cut his power and start an impeachment process against Trump. I am still not able to understand how a moron like him could become president of the United States.
There is one big looser in this system of acting like an insane and mental ill guy: the entire western hemisphere. He is short before destroying the Nato and to break everything America was fighting for. He is on the way starting a friendship with Vladimir Putin. That’s exactly the opposite of the politics USA made since ending of second World War.
And everything fits together so wonderful. The Person acts like a Führer. The persons around him are acting like Himmler, Göring, Goebbels…. and so many more. Even a figure like Hess we will have soon. And they believe that what they do is the best thing they could do for the country. With destroying all relationships with states USA cooperated since decades. With destroying the economy of the United States. With destroying the believing in the stability of the United States. And so many things more. Ending up with having a bogeyman like the Nazis had. For them, the Jews were responsible for all misfortune and failure. And for Trump? They choosed hispanic people. For the same reasons they are deporting them. ten-thousands of them. Even little Kids are kicked out.
So I would say: They make America bleeding out. They kill the constitution. They kill the political kulture. And they try to take care that he will not be impeached. So let’s pray that it ends like Star Wars. That the POWER will be at the end on the good side!

if Trump has a dictator with 2 death and some expulsion, how is your definition of Iran Mollah who killed 12000 persons in a month
It’s great to fight Trump but if think using not appropriate words deserve the cause.
We have the same problem in France, some people doesn’t like Macron and shame his dictator,nazi, bad man it’s their right but not the verity.
Now each person have personal opinion and i respect this.
No one has suggested that its OK for Iran to be acting in its way regarding protestors
It IS ironic as hell that Trump says he’ll bomb Iran because they are shooting protestors when you see how ICE & DHS act in the USA towards protestors
But irony is lost on this administration
Its not a competition
