Letter to Geoff

Generally it does seem much quieter now than it has been in the past

I concur.

Norman, you was one of the top writer there.
Kicking you out reduced the volume by quite a few percent alone.

Maybe the silence means that everyone is happy… :stuck_out_tongue:

More likely fed up with not being listened to or banned so they are here…

Could be an obvious joke for normal people, but someone arrogant could actually see it that way

Thank you for this tip, it makes working with recent versions of Xojo much less grating.

So there is a secret setting that Xojo isn’t telling folks about. They say keep using old stuff but then makes it hard to use the old stuff. This seems VERY UNETHICAL. Like a ploy to make folks just give in to the new stuff. Wow!

Xojo is showing they don’t care the old stuff is hard to use with auto complete otherwise that setting would be exposed. Like f you, just upgrade…

To be fair, they did identify a bug that was causing the API 1 to not show in an upgraded project file.

ONLY when pushed.

For Windows users this is in the same key in the registry hive at
\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Xojo\Xojo

Thank you Norman.

Linux its in an XML file ~/.Xojo.Xojo

@HalGumbert : I know this is an old thread. However, I’d like to know if you actually provided Geoff Perlman with a letter and/or a link to this thread?

Be sure he has the link and be sure he knows about that letter

Pro-Tip: send an E-Mail, don’t waste money on stamps.

I left Geoff know everything, distilled down to 3 points:

  • Fix existing bugs.
  • Ship less bugs.
  • Communicate.

Geoff says no one will say things they post about to his face. I have.

Xojo will not change until Geoff is out of management.

Meanwhile, he lost a 20 year customer who is now insanely happy with PHP and it’s lack of bugs.
