It still exists
But it is oriented toward 32 bit API’s and needs updates to support 64 bit API’s
It still exists
Paul started an update a few years ago.
yeah I’ve just used the WFS version and plucked out and updated the bits I needed
A nice Webinar from Susan on the ‘other forum’
Let’s hope Geoff checks it too, as there are a lot of helpful tips in there Xojo can use for sure!
Ah the saga continues
Worst. Movie. Ever.
In all seriousness, I don’t know what people expect with the Web 1.0 to 2.0 rant. We all know it’s a small team so any resources used to keep a dual track of 1.0 and 2.0 is gonna slow the progress of both and other targets, features and bugs.
For me, I’m mostly concerned about stability and the IDE. As for the latter, it’s a bit slow for me. I guess I’ve gotten spoiled working in other IDE’s as I expect it to be more responsive.
@npalardy - you were mentioned for some brief minutes and then slowly but surely your references are being removed. How Orwellian and childish.
Ah yeah Julian quoted info from the Testers thread which is what they removed
It was basically this list
lol, what resources??? Web 1.0 was almost abandonware for YEARS, keep it for legacy support, getting benefits form the IDE and other features like PDF would be great.
At least keep it around until web 2.0 looked like more than an alpha preview…
Sad but True, Xojo is the slowest IDE I ever used.
I finally got around to writing my blog post: https://www.bkeeneybriefs.com/2020/09/what-about-bob/
On point, as always, Bob.
Very good and to the point, as always.
You couldn’t have put it any better Bob. I’ve turned off my automatic license renew for the end of this year and am actively looking for an alternate product. I’m currently looking at Delphi as an alternative.
Absolutely perfectly put Bob.
Thanks! Always appreciate that people read my stuff and give me positive feedback. A lot of people have contacted me over the years with their concerns and worries about Xojo. The last year and a half has been rough and mostly from Xojo shooting themselves in the foot.
It’s been a while since the this post was active in September 2020.
Is anything better? After glancing thru this thread, it looks like “NO”.
Android is still MIA
Web 2 needs a lot of work
Bugs in major useful components (like the debugger) need serious fixing but languish since we have to “vote” to get bugs fixed (http://feedback.xojo.com/case/59520)
And now they’ve chosen to ignore still valid bug reports by “archiving” them. For instance http://feedback.xojo.com/case/56765
So yeah - same old same old
And they flag and delete comments in the other forum that say exactly that So, it is not allowed to say what “archiving” actually is.
Really need a facepalm emoji as a reaction to a post
