Get Started with Xojo Lite for Only $99

That’s the cool part. Using a language without ecosystem. You can do that. But it’s not cheap. That’s the clue. This light advertisement is let me say: for freaks. When I see this stupid idea I can not hold my self from asking: who will do that. But like all time:there always will be somebody. I am happy not to bring the need of it. They are really…

I didnt say it was cheap
Its possible to use nothing but Lite
But there are impediments (like you still dont get fully text format saves and other issues)

I still think they really need to rethink how they license things to TRY & gain WAY more customers in every realm since they seem to have shed a lot of them in recent years

I dont expect they will though

You know… This ties in exactly with t’other thread about ignoring the kind of customers who’ll go out of their way to help promote Xojo and “Reasonable” influencers.

If Xojo had continued to cultivate relationships with these people, they’d help spread the word for Xojo’s IndieAppSale promotion. Alas, Xojo didn’t think they needed this kind of customer, and instead decided bus drivers (if you know, you know) was the way to go.

Besides, if you really want to capture new customers, then the offer should be amazing, perhaps making it $50 for a complete starter kit, Lite, training guides, App Wrapper included etc… Everything someone would need to learn and distribute their first app.

It would be much better than, hey get this for $100… How do I let people use my, app, oh buy this for $50, plus pay Apple $100 a year. Now how do I… Buy that for $300… How do I… Just spend more money! Now I want to make my app work on my iPhone… Ha ha ha ha… $800…

Where as, to use Xcode is $100 a year, and that includes MBS, App Wrapper, tons of training material, and with one click, your can make your Mac app work on iOS, want watch, another checkbox, visionOS, another checkbox… I realizes that not everyone want to develop for Apple platforms, especially after their treatment of those critical to them, but I don’t imagine MS C# or Flutter is too dissimilar.
