True. So true. Starting with codenameone ending with quasar framework. That’s how it works

Only 30% off ?

Well I have to say, for the people lining up, I cannot see the end of the line…
Oh wait. I can’t even see the line

Disappointed as well. I was waiting for this event to renew my license, but it looks like I can wait longer finally.
In the past years, they did 20% off at least once per year, it was not “huge sale” announced by advance.

Well, their usual discount was 20% so, I guess 30% is a lot for them but yes, with all the fuss they made I was expecting a 50%…

They really are experts on creating big expectations and disapointing.

I was expecting them to increase the price by 30%, but offer a 30% discount.

What can I say ?
huge isnt how I’d describe something just barely more than their usual Black Friday, Pi day, etc sales that are 20%
:man_shrugging:

Indeed

HA !

The trick is not to take the bait, but wait 3.5 months + the next release, and then the discount is irrelevant. However, I’m only doing desktop stuff, so 2023r4 is still working fine. I will wait for any required fixes for the next macOS release, and/or stuff I can use (e.g. preemptive threading, WinFx-based (?) controls, etc.).

Black Friday isnt that far off :stuck_out_tongue:

Still mostly using 2023r1.1
EXCEPT for ONE iOS project in 2024 since Apple insisted on the new SDK so it wasnt optional to update. THAT was not a fun thing to have to do since it was as close to a rewrite without rewriting it as I could possibly get. Mix & match API 1 and API 2 was NOT possible as it would just crash when compiling or immediately when starting a debug run

My license will end on next November. I have two choices: renew now or wait until November (I want to stay current). Since no one knows in advance when they’ll make later discounts, I’d be tempted to renew with the 30% discount of now, but would that mean I’ll have 3 overlapping months?
The rules are confusing.

Counts from day you buy … Exact my humor

Interestingly I heard a Xojo advert on the Connected podcast on Relay.fm (quite a popular tech podcast). I’ve never heard a Xojo advert on a podcast before. The podcast is an Apple tech podcast so it seemed like a good fit.

Perhaps the new marketing hire is trying to change things up a little? Seems like a good idea.

Ask them, but as a renewal it it should add another year to the end of of your current license.

My Understanding is when you renew a licence, it starts the day you current one ends… so If you have one the expires in November, there is no penalty for buy now…

Well the penaly being its Xojo I guess

If you renew the license, it will add 1 year (or 2 year) to the expiration.
Go to your licenses, click renew, select the one you want to renew and click the ‘renew - 1 year’ or ‘renew - 2 years’, you should see the discount price before paying.

I once got Xojo for $20.

It was a bundle i think.

Wow, they just changed the " True multi-core threads" milestone to Xojo 2024r3…

Just annother Fucked up timing. If this is functional, they should had the Big Sale after 2024r3 was shipped (and tested by end users)
