Apache NetBeans 30 released

Netbeans is the only Java IDE with native maven dependency support and a brilliant native Java Swing GUI Editor. It has native JavaFX support which helps with writing JavaFX applications and inline working Scenebuilder for Drag and Drop UI Design.

Small tip: use it together with Claude Code or any other CLI AI agent, works brilliant and fast.

For people which don’t know: Netbeans was Suns major Java development IDE and exists since nearly 30 years. (The time Crossbasic was renamed to RealBasic, little bit before real basic). Supports every Java Version, C , C++ and PHP as written languages. Has beautiful code completion and beautiful services around the IDE itself.

Horrible website.

Java, JavaScript, PHP, HTML5, CSS, and More

Apache NetBeans provides editors, wizards, and templates to help you create applications in Java, PHP and many other languages.

… and where is the list of languages???

I looked through all the pages, and … Nothing.

Heh Apache is NOT well know for “great sites” for any of the projects under their umbrella

At the bottom of that page is a bunch of links

You might try

But TBH I didnt look too far

C, c++, java, JavaScript, html5, PHP

That’s the list.

Most people using it for Java and Javascript. Used by around 800k users. And, if not using Java / JavaScript / C++ or PHP: it may not be your IDE. And for the rest: NetBeans is free and will stay free for ever.
