The picture above look so romantic and beautiful… make me want to visit them soon..

I have living for over 20 years and have not been to Cambridge yet… at least not this part… was only at the own town part when we visit one art gallery which is our software client (don’t have time to do a proper visit)

Hi Trishaduke,

Here is an impression Artistly AI has of the King’s College Castle in Cambridge in Van Gogh style:

I wish I was one of the people in a boat. Despite the image does not resemble the reality, I still like the whole plot.

I love the UK so much despite the fact I was only a few times there. From the moment I retire, I planned to live on a houseboat in the neighbourhood of Oxford. Now I am retired, but faith brought me to Botswana. At least I have this beautiful oil painting. On of my motswana family members live near Manchester, I will test his knowledge of England with this image.

Thank you for your contributions.

Kind Regards,

Chris

Good evening Trishaduke,

I am glad you liked the oil painting of King’s College Castle, I also like it.

This afternoon, we both gave this forum a colourful overview. Everybody can smell the flowers all over the world.

Thank you again for these interesting experiments.

Kind Regards,

Chris

Good evening Norman,

I asked ChatGPT to make an Van Gogh representation of the If Not Nil forum. Here is what it came up with:

Van Gogh is his time far ahead. I hope you like it.

Kind Regards,

Chris

Hi JeffT,

Because we are creative souls who have now the opportunity to use AI to express themselves.

Don’t overthink too much, it is like Norman said: because we can!

Kind Regards,

Chris

that is kind of funny

Maybe it should be more in the style of “The Scream” by Edvard Munch ?

Or in the music style of young Bon Jovi “Runaway”

It’s a Chapel not a Castle. If you stated Castle in your prompt it may be why the AI is so far from reality with its depiction. It is still quite a nice picture though.
.

This area of Cambridge is referred to as “The Backs”, which is on Queen’s Road. The opposite end of King’s College Chapel is on a street named King’s Parade which is in the city centre and has a selection of very nice coffee shops. At the end of King’s Parade there’s a Church named Great St Mary’s and you can go up the tower there and get some really fantastic views of Cambridge.

I’m obviously a bit biased having been born in Cambridge but imho it’s definitely worth a visit

I saw a meme that said: “Maybe Munch was just very bad at drawing spaniels” and now I can’t unsee it

Hello SteveW,

Thank you for your correction, however castle/chapel does not make any difference. I did not copy the prompts in the text here. In the prompts, it was chapel.

However, to be sure, I used a prompt with chapel:

And there the prompt with Castle:

By the way, I used ChatGPT for these images.

I gave ChatGPT the following prompt:

“Please can you convert this upload to an impressionist style. It is the Kings College Chapel in Cambridge England”

and this is the result:

You are correct, Castle/chapel can make a big difference, however in this case it didn’t.

I think the results are still acceptable, especially the last one.

Kind Regards,

Chris
