Xojos bug tracking system

I’ve not seen one

I’ve not seen one either but it follows the typical process. Something gets fixed. Breaks something else. No testing done other for the specific bug - no one notices the new bug - including prerelease testers. Product released. OMG! New bug!

every release is a perfect illustration of the fact they HAVE no PROCESS
it was haphazard and only a few people did anything to try & improve it

Now ? I’m convinced it doesnt exist at all in any way
not even on a personal level

PROCESS PROCESS PROCESS

When I read Xojo’s count of their bug fixes, I am reminded of Mike the Dog. A few here might remember, but Mike the Dog was a performing border collie, who became famous from his appearance in 1986’s “Down and Out in Beverly Hills.” Mike the Dog appeared on a talk show, with his handler. The handler gave a figure, in the hundreds, for all the tricks Mike the Dog knew. The host asked, “Are you counting stuff like ‘jumping on the furniture’ ?”

Their handling of developer’s concerns is priceless.

well there we go

opened 2024r4
tried client Android project
compiler bitched about a “new requirement” - cant name a layout LaunchScreen
ok renamed that to SplashScreen

hit run

waited & waited
get some error about an unresolved symbol that isnt in my code (apparently it gets converted to all lowercase by their process)
search my code for it
everything looks ok (and compiled in a previous version)

no idea whats wrong

submitted private bug report

total elapsed time < 10 minutes with the new version before I hit a showstopper
I cant fix what I dont know HOW to fix since I cant see whats wrong

Yay !

Lets see if show stoppers really DO get priority
