I think we’re long past that, at least under Gill, Apple was still pushing Macs and the macOS. There’s next to no QOL improvements in macOS 15, but hopefully it means they’ve put a lot of attention on bug fixes, but to be honest with the current management team in place, I think it’s more about “profit improvement” than product development.
So many of the features are borrowed from Android and Windows, even the Window snapping and phone mirroring to the desktop.
One thing, I’m looking forward in a future macOS update is having the OS manage the “dark” application icon variant for me. While Sleep Aid already does this for the dock, it can’t do the Finder and Sleep Aid has to be running.
No live presentations of AI features, no code-alongs and devs cannot test them yet. These features seem to be a bit wobbly in their current state.
That said, there are good improvements in Swift and SwiftUI.
Vapor (server side Swift) is preparing a major release that will clean up many issues.
Looks like this wwdc was a bit too early for the teams behind the products.

They did add some features but the BIGGEST thing was all the bug fixes & speed improvements
That won over a LOT of developers & users
Quality of life are basically features or changes that doesn’t change any gameplay elements or features, but rather done to make the player’s life easier. (This means bug fixes, balance changes, reworks, changes to how a certain system works, etc are NOT QOL changes).
Snow Leopard wasn’t about convenience but mostly bug fixes, stability and speed improvements. The interface was practically identical to the previous MacOS 10.5 Leopard, but the whole framework beneath got a major reworking.
For 10.7 Lion they did the opposite, mostly interface changes and new features, very little bug fixing - and Lion was probably the worst version ever, the “Windows Vista” of the Mac World …
