structurally the DB hasnt changed since I did that work years ago
I haven’t been using Web 2.0 in the 2020 betas at all (I haven’t been using the beta much truth be told as I’ve been using C#) but I didn’t get the feeling the 2020 beta was super buggy. Like @npalardy implies, maybe it’s just taken them longer to get the Web 2.0 features implemented than they thought.
a slightly jovial, but serious point none the less:-
remove Web 1.0, 500 less bugs
depreciate API1, all the rest of the bugs are gone
not so many people testing the new betas, not many bugs to report
not many bugs reported means not many to fix
you see my point, all my faith has vanished along with my pro licence fee, hence zero belief the product will be bug free or tested properly with all the new code if anything ever gets released thats new this year.
we have a new release and its just for already depreciated code, to quieten down a shit storm that happens when no new 2020 release is available to run on new Mac hardware, jeeessss, we are living in a joke from the compiler perspective.
I suppose like many, once my current licence expires I will stop caring and just be another no returning ex customer who was not asked why he stopped supporting the product.
I am no the focus of the company, I again ask the question in the OP, where is Xojo focus? still no answer despite over 200 replies.
Quite honestly I do not know what the “focus” is
Their mission statement on linked in says
and as I said to Geoff, and got an official rebuke in a private message (not from Geoff himself as he is obviously too important to do so)
blah, blah, blah
we can all write that sort of twaddle, it fools people for a while, then the truth comes along.
my limited view of the Xojo world appears to tell me that the focus is on Geoff, if anyone does not agree with the focus Geoff has then its a bad focus, so f**k everyone who does not wish to waddle along like a good baby duck.
sorry Norman, bit of a vent, nothing to see, nothing is going to change, 5 months to go before my licence goes and I will not mention it again.
Me for one, I’d do a weeks work in exchange for a Pro license, or perhaps create a new super-duper license “Xojo Developer”…
LOL
Maybe not the 2020 beta as a whole, JUST a whole target. I could describe how many basic functions didnt even work but, Part of the beta tester agreement is not to speak outside the other forum chanel.
reality is it would take more than a week to get up to speed to be able to do that weeks worth of work
I have been using 2020r1 for my desktop projects and BS testing in the last week. This works fine except for one hard crash.
Web 2.0 seems to be more like an early alpha after many weeks it has been available for testing.
Ze offer is there is they want to take me up on it. There’s so much I’d love to actually be able to do with Xojo if someone would let me loose on the source code.
Which may or may not be a good thing…
