Did you had a try with intellijidea or qtcreator?
No, I didn’t. QtCreator looks good btw.
But I have to say that I think that a good IDE has a WYSIWYG UI designer, supports code behind, supports extensibility, has good code completion, generates code where possible and doesn’t give you options that doesn’t work at the current code.
And that disqualifies about 80% of all IDE’s.
As stated earlier in this thread, the VB6 IDE was (for it’s time) a really good IDE.
As was Delphi, that still exists. I looked at it a few years ago, but it is still about the same as it was in 1995. Very good back then but really outdated in 2021.
But with a from price of 233 per developer per MONTH, it better be good …
For the record… I’m looking at various GUI designers to get ideas for building my own as part of my “Xojo” alternative project

Make sure if its a drag/drop wysiwyg gui designer, that it generates code that you can modify or write from scratch.
That givesthe best of both worlds!
VS designers worked that way, not sure if there are others?
