It’s rare that you see a company shoot itself in the foot and then, when people say “hey, maybe that’s a bad idea”, take careful, deliberate aim at the other foot.
I know a few. It comes down to hubristic managers who cannot admit that they are wrong and who rather take the loss.
The “each type of project generates ONE type out output” was in place before I got there
There were Desktop projects and Console projects
That would have been a great time to make it so a single project could generate multiple outputs
