I’m pretty good at long-term predictions. In 1983 (at the end of my days in school) I had a heated discussion predicting that multi-resistant strains would become a serious problem within 40-50 years. Enter MRSA. In 2000 I predicted Apple would rise as I was sure they had a winner on their hands with MacOS X (and you could see the uber geeks running around with Powerbooks long before the masses caught on). In 2013 I predicted that Xojo’s introduction of the Rapid Release Model would lead to a perpetual beta quality product - I think Xojo’s state speaks for itself. About 6 or 7 years ago I predicted that Turkey is turning into a second Iran, and they are now 3/4 there. The US seems to be following suit, with more and more authoritarian right-wingers becoming part of the Republican Party, and the “Department of Homeland Security” becoming the equivalent of the Revolutionary Guards. Yes it been nearly 15 years of trying the same thing over and over and getting crappy results and trying it over again to see if the results are better 🙂 That Apple ticks with a once a year update + dot releases in between doesnt seem to impeded them There are lots of companies that do not use such a model It sounded great in theory but the premise it was founded on isnt true in practive ---

Wow Trump doesnt even try to hide the corruption and cheating any more. Now he’s flat out said that the USPS is being directed to operate in ways that will delay or impede mail-in ballots. The IG report on Trump’s request to get the British Open moved to Turnberry has disappeared. Just WOW And, fun fun fun, the foreward for Michael Cohen’s forthcoming book is a fun read. Should that book land before the election … ---

Several Republicans, including the vice president, have made the case that the riots and protests and violence happening in Trump’s America wouldn’t be happening in Trump’s America. The first ten minutes of Tucker Carlson Tonight were the closest thing to pure, unfiltered fascism in American public life. Going out to the largest cable news audience ever. The drive to make Rittenhouse a right-wing hero of self-defense has been the single most ominous development of the year. If you ever wondered how Germans ended up with Hitler - look at Trump‘s USA and the Republican Party. ---
