I agree that the folks who are criticizing existing issues are hardly trolls
While the staff might not like the flood of critiques then the answer is not to shut down, retreat, and disbelieve everyone
I seriously disliked the constant criticism
But I dont think I ever said it was not deserved
And knew we had to do better
When it was plainly obvious that was never going to happen I decided to leave
The only thing Xojo did was change my schedule
I have been using Purebasic for the last few years. Its very fast and produces extremely small executables. Its a one time payment of $99 and you get support for SQLite, PostgreSQL, MySQL and ODBC databases.
Downside? Weird syntax in a few places, each database dataset requires a connection, not a great collection of GUI controls (but not real bad), GUI designer is adequate but not real good. Community is small. Only a couple of people developing it but they do put out bug fixes and new versions on a regular basis.
And its not object oriented which may or may not be a problem depending on your tastes.
