Westfalenblatt isn’s using XoJo for rasterization. Who told you that???
Even old coders using AI. It reduces the boiler plate amount to write while really developing. And yes, AI is not developing the Ideas sometimes needed to have a good Software, it codes but it does not really invent. That’s the difference. The programmer is still needed and the “new age” programmers which using the AI but having n Idea about the language…I guess that will also end soon.
It works on desktop apps that way already so iOS should as well
I wrote AL - autolayout
![]()
It DOES exist in the IDE already - its used for iOS layouts
BUT I’ll agree they want the AI in the IDE because it will be so modern cool & new
Not sure about useful though
For well known languages AI’s can help a bunch
I’ve used it in Rider & VS Code with C# and Node.js projects
I have my doubts about it with something as obscure as Xojo
Just like COBOL
Except COBOL was widely used and is still in existence
THIS! Boilerplates or usual jobs, usally delegated to Junior Coders like makefiles or smaller tasks with clear start and end conditions. The problem with any LLM. This dump boxes are stupid like hell. They do not know concepts, they cannot combine existing to something completly new. They start halluzinating only to please you well, and they turn against you if the’y’re biased or trained to do so.
Do I use AI, ja sometimes. boilerplates, checking already written letters. Do I want mission critical code from it? Nope. definitly not! I even do not want to have any AI training on my data nor being integrated in my IDE or PC.
To put this in the given picture with blacksmiths: AI is killing all younger blacksmiths, who have now higher obstacles to get a feet into the job until ultimatley someday only a few remain.
I am financing them cause I know that I’ll need experienced ones somewhen
