On that other forum, someone asked if a Privacy Policy had to be included to distribute in the App Store. This was for a macOS app… I do know that it IS required for iOS apps and would assume the same for macOS. Even if you don’t collect any data at all, you need a policy that stipulates that.

We Collect No Personal Information Using Our Applications
We do not collect, use, save, or have access to any of your personal data recorded in MYAPP for iOS.
Individual settings relating to the MYAPP apps are not personal and are
stored only on your device. You might also be asked to provide access
to your photo library and/or camera, but this is only so you can open
your photos in MYAPP and use it for a profile picture, and is a totally
optionaly feature. We do not process that information at all and have
no access to it.
In addition, if you take a photo using MYAPP for iOS, location data is
saved in the image, but we have no access to that data and it is not
shared with anyone unless you yourself choose to share the image.
Our Applications Comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act
Our applications do not collect personal information from anyone,
including children under the age of 13.
