Yes we’ve been hearing about the existential threats to Israel all our lives. Yet in 1948, 1956, 1967 and 1982 Israel has been the instigator. Only in 1973 was it attacked first.
Those Palestinians it didn’t ethnically cleanse in 1948, it has kept as second class citizens or under martial law or in what numerous sources (including Israeli) over many decades have described as a concentration camp. The only democracy in the middle east ™ is an apartheid theocratic state, favouring those of one religion over all others. Marriage between a Jew and a Muslim/Christian is not possible. The most moral army in the world™ is committing genocide.
Israel is an existential threat to its neighbours, not the other way around. Sure it has the Iron dome, largely supplied and funded by the USA. This is for the protection of Jewish Israelis. With two scarce and expensive missiles required per attempted interception it rations its responses and won’t fire if the missiles are heading toward Palestinian villages on The West Bank, for example. Additionally during the 12 day war with Iran there were numerous reports of Palestinian citizens of Israel being denied entry to shelters.
As regards nuclear weapons, Israel made it clear in 1973 that if the US didn’t come to its aid then it was prepared to use its nuclear weapons. The ones that supposedly don’t exist.
Iran, unlike Israel is a signatory to the NPT and to its detriment has cooperated with the IAEA, unlike Israel in both cases. There is evidence that cooperation with the IAEA which was in cahoots with Israel led directly to the targeted assassination of Iranian nuclear scientists.

We can discuss if this was the right way but I would expect if Canada would shoot rockets on America and kill people there it would not cost years but days until Canada would look more or less like a parking place.

What you’re missing is that Canadian’s are not aggressors, unlike some American administrations. As well, if we take the current Russia/Ukraine war as an example, Russia (the aggressor) thought they could take Ukraine in 3 days, but here we are 4 years later and it’s still going.
Given the “might” of the Russia military compared to how tiny Ukraine is in comparison, that proves how surprising an opponent can be - not to mention the spirit of its people.

I can’t even watch “60 Minutes” anymore. It has been a fixture since my adolescence in the early 70s. I just dropped my WaPo subscription last fall, after a number of key op-ed writers bailed (the quisling Marc Thiessen is among those who remain.)
If I remember, justification for dropping the Fairness Doctrine was that we were at the end of the broadcast era of limited channels (and three networks), and there was now a vastly broader spectrum available for varied opinions. But that is moot, because most of those channels are owned by relatively few conglomerates.

Prior to the orange king’s reign(s), the occasional negative American rhetoric towards Canada was easily passed off as something not worth spending time on.
But now, well… it’s a whole different ball game. As the rhetoric keeps ramping up, Canadians are taking notice. The sad demise of “woke” in America, as a consequence, has made other countries more “awake” to its machinations.
