Well, that has being the bussiness model for a log time.

Android is near, you are going to miss it if you dont buy now.

welcome back @thorstenstueker! after “infecting” me with Java as well, you’ve been missing for a while, if I’m not mistaken.

That kind of infection I have to “suffer” since 25 years. It is in my opinion the best way for real cross platform apps. With Swing or JavaFX for Desktop (okay, FX for mobile and also Web is no real problem) and also mobile with CN1.

So I was missing while working on a few projects which are important in my view. One of them is definitely Jpro while it brings the possibility to write Xojo-like Web Applications and also to write full stack web applications. What ever you want.

So it is possible to do what you need. Only “native” isn’t possible. So I got infected before a long time. I will not really come back to Xojo while there is no need anymore to work with it. Anyhow I have the experience that in the Xojo environment let me say at many places clocks are working backwards. So I have no need to get into that cause I have no need for any kind of discussion about Java anymore. Why? While I am not in the hurry to discuss that it is working and that it is in a best condition: looking from Java to Xojo, C++, C# and all other solutions Java is the only way to work cross platform on all possible platforms and if I want to with exactly one Development project.

That makes it impossible for me to do that discussions. All the “Ahh not for my projects, for me Go is the best and for that I take Rust and for that…” at the end there is again a bunch of languages and a big set of impossibilities. It will never help anybody to fight when people are thinking that a) they are right and b) they have the Idea how to do things and c) that they know best how to do stuffs. At the end I can see then: oh, they have done that perfectly but they needed to do the double amount of work.

So before discussing on that level I was concentrating and I will also in future on my projects cause I believe that it is more important to have for example JFormdesigner for JavaFX (thanks Mr. Tauber for the nice conversation in that project), to have in future somewhen JavaFX Gut with the Matisse project for Netbeans and other things like this.

Even if I would loose many hours with a project like that I would not have to discuss what I know with arguments from third parties which have no real Idea about.

Last but not least I am in Business since 36 years and so I know also when to stop discussions. At the end it is not helping anybody. Especially not me.

So that’s why I am not around anymore with any consideration of Java. When ever you need any information feel free to write a PM.

@thorstenstueker I remember some time ago I was a little bit annoyed because you were almost always talking about Java.
Then I thought that I should try it and I am doing it.
so thank you.

Killing a product without warning and shuting down any support and bug fix would be really stupid in so many ways… (web1?)

MS products have a Lifecycle Policy, even if the product is retired, MS keeps working and fixing it for all the guaranteed support time. Every customer starts working with the tool knowing when the product will be activelly maintained.

The “genius” must be totally clueless about how big names work. And think everyone is isgnorant as well?
