European cyber security rules

I am happy that I develop android and iOS with codenameone. Open source. Reliable. Running.

Did you see the list of known to be missing at launch features? Xojo Android will launch without support for basic features of the platform and basic features of the Xojo framework itself. I’m uh, not optimistic. :grimacing:

It is a half baked solution in a half baked tradition of the company tim

The EU‘s regulation project is not about how coders work. It is about the commercialisation of software. The implicit consequence is that it affects a developer’s choice of building blocks they take from the market.

The flaw in the proposed EU law is the lack of differentiation between commercial products and free and open ones.

Yes. The lack of TCPSocket in the initial launch is what prevents me to test Android, as all my needs there are currently about making remote control kind of apps.
So I’m waiting for the 2nd release cycle, should it happen someday (hoping it’ll include TCPSockets) :man_shrugging:.

A lot of water will go down the rive until we’ll see that. Let’s hope for solid unit testing before release.
