It didn’t matter how much my lowered my expectations, App Wrapper just isn’t a profitable venture, and even less so now.

In my opinion, AppWrapper does much more than Xojo’s integration (more options, ability to know why something goes wrong (instead of Xojo’s “Couldn’t build the app” short message), etc.).

I don’t plan to stop using AppWrapper and don’t expect Xojo to replace it enough soon.

Hi Sam,

I’ve been following this thread for a while now, and honestly, I had no idea what had happened between you and Xojo.

I haven’t been a Xojo user for quite some time and I don’t regret moving away. I’m not an AppWrapper user either. But seeing the comments here makes it very clear to me that AppWrapper still has real value.

If I were in your position, I would consider talking to Garry (Objo Studio) and Greg (Buoy) to see whether there might be an opportunity to bring AppWrapper to their platforms. I use Objo myself and, although it is still young, I believe it has a lot of future potential.

What Anic said here also shows that what you created with AppWrapper offers something people genuinely appreciate.

Most of all, I hope you don’t spend too much of your energy on anger or on what happened in the past. Put that energy into finding new opportunities and people who value what you have created.

Without wanting to turn this into politics, we can see something similar happening internationally today: when old relationships become difficult or unreliable, people and countries start looking for new partners and new markets. Sometimes losing one door forces us to discover several others.

You can do the same.

Don’t let Xojo, Perlman, or anyone else bring you down. You built something valuable once, and I believe you can find a new future for it.

Oh for sure; App Wrapper was designed to be as helpful and to handle large complicated projects. I have GB’s of other people’s apps that I test App Wrapper with. Xojo’s solution was simply designed to provide a “good enough” option, to eradicate enough of App Wrapper’s business that App Wrapper would become unsustainable. Geoff’s intention was to punish me for my insubordination, and it worked too.

Since I’ve opened up about what’s been going on, a couple of people have stepped forward showing interest in taking over App Wrapper. I am considering each of them. It would be nice if App Wrapper could outlive me.

Thank you. I am all over the place at the moment, some in the past, some trying to figure what kind of future I want to build for myself. I’m putting a lot more energy into re-integrating with society and my studies of Mandarin. I think it’s going to take time to sort myself out and I’m in no rush. Heck, I’m even spending more time snuggled up with dogs and just resting.

Indeed as its still my go to tool since certain clients do NOT want to update to any of the versions that have Xojo’s built in stuff
For me its necessary
