A perspective for a democratic and rule-based world

The Canadian PM has been uninvited from Trumps ‘board of peace’. Canadians must be devastated

I think the word you’re looking for is THRILLED

If you take a closer look at the Trump project, you will see that Trump wants to use it to make money and retain power beyond his presidency. Added to this is the entry fee that parties are required to pay for a permanent seat. This is disgustingly corrupt because Trump simply wants to pocket this money.
It is time for him to go to prison and for the fortune he has made by harming the American people to be confiscated. And by that I mean, among other things, the massive stock profits that he and his family made through insider knowledge of the setting and removal of tariffs, and any other enrichment.
While the average American has less money at their disposal, the rich are getting richer. Poor America.

Again a human died from ICE guns in Minnesota. When this crap will end up. This is going in the same direction the NSDAP in germany was going with Hitler and his Gestapo. We all know the end of it. And as German-Israeli I am reading and listening to this behavior of the American government. For me it is unbearable to see how this Potus is misusing his power like no president of the United States before.
The federal agents are also misusing their power. But this people in many cases having no Idea about it. While there was nearly no education. They remove Hispanic people from the United States like Hitler was removing jewish people from Germany and the rest of Europe. If there is no chance to stop this politics many more people will be dead until Trump dies.

It was a good speech and it seems Mark Carney has had an epiphany, he’s finally grasping what so many Brexiteers were hoping to bring about… “greater strategic autonomy, in energy, food, critical minerals, in finance and supply chains”

Of course he was batting for the other team back then but hey, credit where it’s due, it seems he’s on the road to Damascus.

Carney was the Governor of the Bank of England during Brexit
Not sure he was in favour of it but he ran the Bank in a manner that made sure Brexit didnt collapse England

As a Canadian I was actually VERY happy with the speech he made at Davos
It acknowledges the world order trump has set in motion and is realistic
If we cant count on the USA as a steady reliable trading partner then we’ll look elsewhere
Oddly enough China is steady stable reliable and so is the EU, Australia, and several other places he’s visited since Davos
I’m pleased as hell with his performance so far

Europe and china are more on the candian site than USA is. And USA isn’t a partner with any kind of reliability. We lost this partner. Trump has made an oligarchic club from the USA. People which are becoming rich, mostly Trump family and friends. So it has become a dangerous situation. For europe cause nobody knows if USA is still reliable nato partner in case of an attack of will USA say: okay Vladimir, let’s speak about peace, they are the guilty ones for this war so you are right and everything is okay. What is then? While we are in this situation we can only work with the friends we have. Canada is one, Australia is one. And so we are for them.

Absolutely

China MAY have a political system we dislike but they donor try to export it OR weird their influence in the way the USA, or at least Trump, has been where its more like extortion

China is reliable - when they sign a deal they stick to that deal and dont throw it aside when it doesnt suit their purpose
Trump has done that with the MCA HE negotiated

Reliable friends & partners are an important commodity

This also would be a deal for taiwan. They would make a deal. Even HongKong is still alife. Or mor than ever before. Depends who’m you asking. What ever. A rule based perspective we will only have with nations which are not acting like Trump.
